Dark Light

If you remember, last year during E3 2017 week, Brandwatch – a social media monitoring company – published a data analysis report of social media, where Assassin’s Creed Origins emerged as the most discussed game over the social networks. On the other hand, Microsoft’s E3 briefing was the most mentioned conference.

Well, this year the company did their analysis again and gathered more than 1 million mentions of E3 2018 across social media. And, apparently, this year’s most discussed game on the Internet is Bethesda’s online-only survival game Fallout 76. Whereas, according to the data, the top conference that garnered more mentions was still Microsoft’s.

Here are the top 10 most talked about games of E3 2018:

  1. Fallout 76
  2. Kingdom Hearts 3
  3. Cyberpunk 2077
  4. Jump Force
  5. The Division 2
  6. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
  7. Death Stranding
  8. Anthem
  9. Spider-Man
  10. Halo Infinite

Microsoft’s conference was most mentioned at E3 2018 with around 187,140 mentions across the E3 week. While Ubisoft’s briefing was the second most discussed conference followed by Sony, Bethesda, Nintendo, EA, and Square Enix in order. (You can read a more detailed conference-by-conference analysis of E3 2018 and the methodology used to calculate the data at Brandwatch’s website.)

Moreover, here are the most mentioned games during a particular press conference:

  • Microsoft :: Kingdom Hearts 3
  • Ubisoft :: Beyond Good and Evil 2
  • Sony :: Death Stranding
  • Bethesda :: Fallout 76
  • Nintendo :: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
  • EA :: Anthem
  • Square Enix :: Shadow Of Tomb Raider

This is the second consecutive win for Microsoft, which has continued to create buzz at E3. This win can be attributed to the company’s unveiling of a heck lot of new games from the likes of Devil May Cry 5, Halo Infinite, Cyberpunk 2077, and more. Besides, it’s a bit shocking to see DMC 5, a highly anticipated game, not making a cut in the top 10 list (It ended up as being the 12th most talked about game at E3 2018, though).

Now, as E3 2018 is officially over, Microsoft has seemingly won the show this year, but let us know who do you think has won E3 2018 in the comments below.
