The Division turned out to be unique and one of Ubisoft’s best MMO shooters – which meant that a sequel was probably in the works for long. Today, Ubisoft officially breaks the silence, officially announcing The Division 2 on their personal blog.

They released an update schedule for The Division, besides announcing that they are working on the sequel for the popular post-apocalyptic shooter.

The Division 2 will be shown officially at E3 2018 in June, during Ubisoft’s show.

Two updates to the game, one which is a long-awaited Xbox One X patch, and another, which adds achievements in the form of “shields”, which will be carried over to The Division 2. Ubisoft in its blog states that “part of that means recognizing your commitment to The Division. With that in mind, we’re adding a new type of achievement called “Shields” to the game. Earning them will unlock special rewards in The Division 2 when it launches.”

The Division 2 will be powered by an updated version of the Snowdrop engine, and development will be led by Massive Entertainment in collaboration with Ubisoft Reflections, Red Storm Entertainment, Ubisoft Annecy, Ubisoft Shanghai and Ubisoft Bucharest.
