Dark Light

We actually didn’t make a list of the most anticipated games because in most lists people would already have seen the likes of Mass Effect Andromeda, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Prey, Star Citizen etc. So we thought why not make a list of games that might go under the radar or have little hype surrounding them and yet look interesting. So let’s get into the list:

1. Desync

Imagine Doom in a Neonpunk world and that is precisely what Desync is. The game’s emphasis is on creatively killing enemies in all all kinds of manner, while also evaluating overall performance that tracks a variety of player actions, including mobility, situational awareness, accuracy, mouse movement patterns, attack variety, and more. I am imagining a style meter, something like DMC? Regardless the game looks damn impressive and is one of the games I am personally looking forward to, the most. With it’s dual weilding, highly unique art style, fast paced gameplay, amazing soundtrack and new game mechanics, it might be the next big FPS after Doom.

2. P.A.M.E.L.A

P.A.M.E.L.A is an open world, survival horror game with RPG elements, set in the city of Eden. Played through a first person perspective, the game will have a fleshed out combat system along with a deep lore to the world. It reminds me of System Shock quite a bit and hence the excitement. With an interesting combat system, great visual appeal (Graphically and artistically)and an intriguing atmosphere, this is one game to watch out for.

3. Phoning Home

Wall-E immediately comes to mind, just as the game trailer starts. That striking resemblance can’t be missed by anyone who has watched Wall-E. This is another action adventure survival game in a unique open world. Not much is known about the game mechanics and hence we will have to wait for the game to release for more details, but the visual style of the game is distinct.

4. Troll and I

The Last Guardian just went by, and was received to quite some acclaim. Troll and I seems to be somewhat similar to TLG, except that- it is set in a more modern world, we can switch between the two characters on the fly and it has local multiplayer as well. There are some nifty little additions such as crafting as well. It is on the same lines as TLG, but is quite different from it at the same time.

5. Seven: The Days Long Gone

Seven is a game about a thief and is set in an open world with an isometric camera view. Being developed by ex-Witcher devs, gamers can expect great world design, awesome narrative, challenging gameplay, a host of meaningful side quests and a whole lot of other stuff. Emergent gameplay is something that the developers are focusing on, and it’s high time we got such a game.

6. Hello Neighbour

Hello Neighbor is a survival stealth game with a twist- It has evolving AI that learns and anticipates the player’s moves, which means that no two play throughs will be the same. The main plot of the game is that you, as the character, suspect that the neighbor is hiding something vicious and are curious enough to infiltrate his house and it is then your job to get to the secret. The visual style along with the unique gameplay mechaincs sure make this game stand out from the rest.

8. The Signal From Tolva

The Signal From Tölva is a journey into a wild science fiction landscape, filled with danger and beauty: you must survive terrible hazards, navigate through impossible spaces, and fight an ongoing battle to control this haunted, blighted world. You will make use of a range of powerful tools to overcome your enemies and uncover secrets: hack robots to battle alongside you, equip powerful weapons, and detonate savage defence systems.

9. Matterfall

Not much is known about the game, heck we don’t even know what genre it belongs to. But this trailer below looks downright awesome, so we had to put it in the list.

10. Project Wight

Project Wight is an open world RPG set in an alternate history where Vikings live non-harmonically alongside ‘creatures’. The player will play as the hunted and according to the developers, ‘will not be all about slaughter’. Not much is know at this point about the game mechanics apart from the trailer below and a few other excerpts, but this surely is one interesting game.

What do you think of the list? Which games look interesting to you? Yes we do know we are missing some indie games, but to be honest, the indie games that we are missing would have been in our ‘Most Anticipated List’, so we didn’t put them here. Let us know in the comments below what you think about the list and give this article a thumbs up if you liked it and do let us know what kind of Top 10 lists you would like to see. Signing out.
