We’ve been excited for quite some time when we heard that a Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake is in the works. It is exciting to see that Ubisoft is interested in Prince of Persia after a long time. People are excited about the announcement – and leaks don’t seem to end any time soon. More promising details have emerged about the rumored Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake.

The leak suggests that the game has been in production for quite some time. Ubisoft has been trying to improve its image and bring back its players after repeated recent failures (Far Cry: New Dawn, Ghost Recon: Breakpoint and The Division 2, to name a few). Remakes of other Prince of Persia games depend on the financial performance of the Sands of Time remake. The rumor also suggests that a sequel to Prince of Persia (2008) is in planning. The biggest part of the leak would be that Ubisoft would likely be ditching the Epic Store exclusivity and will be launching on Steam and Uplay for future releases.

The game will feature Kaileena and Dahaka in quite a few prominent cameos. The game’s combat system has been tweaked to be more reminiscent of hack and slash games – having a blazing similarity with that of For Honor. The remake would feature Yuri Lowenthal as the voice actor for the prince (which was quite an iconic voice back in the day, truth be told). Ubisoft Quebec would be in charge of the product, and they have the full support of Jordan Mechner – the creator of Prince of Persia. The official release date was planned to be in December 2020, though it is likely to be delayed because of the COVID-19 crisis.

Excited? An announcement is likely to be coming during Ubisoft’s digital event.
