Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt RED has revealed that they have invested over $121 million on developing the epic science-fiction title as well as other unannounced projects. We all knew that the development of Cyberpunk 2077 was going to be massive, so this shouldn’t be a big surprise to us.
In a new corporate report, the development studio stated that they have spent over 448.513 PLN ($121.09 million) developing Cyberpunk 2077 as well as some other unannounced projects. This also includes the development of a multiplayer mode that is coming to Cyberpunk 2077.
It is also worth noting that spending on game projects has gone up 77% to 111 million PLN in the first half of 2020 mainly due to the delay of the game.
“Expenditures on development projects (114 274 thousand PLN), mainly related to Cyberpunk 2077, which has entered its final, most intensive (in terms of expenditures) phase of development, along with other projects underway at CD PROJEKT RED and development of new technologies in the GOG.com segment.”
CFO Piotr Nielubowicz, in an official video recapping CDPR’s fiscal year performance, proudly announced that they are not expecting any more delays, and the team is quite confident of hitting the release date. Cyberpunk 2077 is coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One on November 19, 2020. It will also be coming to Xbox Series X and PS5 as free upgrades for those who bought the current-gen versions. The next Night City Wire event will be aired at the Tokyo Game Show 2020 on September 26 at 2 PM JST / 10:30 AM IST.
