UPDATE: It’s official. Yakuza: Like a Dragon has received a STEAM page and will release later this year.
Original story:
SEGA has been doing a wonderful job of late porting over some of the beloved console exclusives to PC including the amazing Yakuza series. The PC community has already seen the release of Yakuza 0, Kiwami, and Kiwami 2 on STEAM within a relatively short span. Well here’s another good news for Yakuza fans on the PC. A database entry for Yakuza: Like a Dragon, the 8th mainline entry in the franchise has appeared on SteamDB.
SteamDB lists it as Unknown App 1235140 and described as “deleted or hidden to the public.” However, we can already see some image files like headers, library cover, and logos of the game in the preview.
Usually, the Yakuza games have made itself to PC years after its western release on consoles. What’s interesting is that Yakuza: Like a Dragon released in Japan earlier this year and will only be making its way to PS4 in the West later this year. The presence of this database entry could mean that the game might be coming to PC sooner than expected. Who knows, we might even see a simultaneous release of the Western localization on both PC and PS4.
We’ll let you know when a Steam page pops up. In the meantime, here’s hoping that SEGA will release Yakuza: Remastered Collection on the PC before the release of this new entry.
