In a recent chat with Eurogamer‘s Robert Purchese, CD Projekt Red’s co-founder Marcin Iwinski said that they don’t have plans for another Witcher and nor we’ll get it anytime soon.
When Robert asked him whether the studio will leave The Witcher series unassisted after the final downloadable content – Blood and Wine this May 31st – or return to it some day to which he replied, “We honestly don’t know. We don’t have anything planned as of now to be honest on the next Witcher.” He further quoted by saying:
“As we said before, never say never [but] right now it’s really Blood and Wine. This is the end. Blood and Wine is [the] closing and there won’t be any Witcher any time soon – if there ever will be one. And I would really like to see how people feel about it, if they will enjoy it.”
Recently, CDPR has outlined their six-year plan which includes the release of Cyberpunk 2077 – sometime after 2017 – and another untitled AAA RPG – between 2017 and 2021 – which Robert doubts will be the next “Witcher 4”.
On asking Marcin, he denied by saying, “We are a publicly traded company so we cannot comment on that but I can assure you we are not working on another Witcher.” Well, that’s a bold statement he gave there.
All things apart, The Witcher 3 has completed its 1st anniversary and in that manner I wondered why Pratyush is seems to be pretty quite, in fact, he don’t stop praising it each time(I think I’ve to ask my editor where he is).
The Witcher 3 – Blood and Wine is scheduled to release on May 31st. In case you don’t have the base game, just get it as it’s available worldwide on PS4, Xbox One and PC
