Last year, Telltale Games finally announced a new season for Bill Willingham’s Fables comic book based episodic game, The Wolf Among Us, with a planned 2018 release window. But, apparently, we’ll have to wait a little longer to see The Big Bad Wolf (a.k.a Bigby Wolf) in action.

Telltale Games announced that The Wolf Among Us‘ Season 2 got delayed until 2019 “as the result of a few fundamental changes”. This delay will allow them to “experiment and iterate in order to craft something truly special”. They haven’t divulged any more details as to what those changes are, however, Telltale is promising to share more news about TWAU 2 later this year.

The delay is probably accredited to the layoffs at the studio during last November which essentially removed 25% of the total workforce at Telltale (90 staffers were laid off). Although, it has been said that the development of TWAU 2 will not be affected by it.

For the uninitiated, The Wolf Among Us is an episodic mystery game developed by Telltale Games and first released in 2013. The game takes place twenty years before the events of the Fables comic book series and stars protagonist Bigby Wolf, sheriff of Fabletown, as he uncovers the secrets behind mysterious killings transpiring in Fabletown.

The series was well received by critics and players alike. The detective noir style and the comic book-esque art-style was something I personally liked about the game. It is available on every major gaming platform excluding the Switch (which might be not the case with the second outing).
