Infinity Ward is hoping to scare you silly in its limited-time Halloween event The Haunting of Verdansk. It will run on Modern Warfare and its free-to-play battle royale Warzone from October 20 to November 3.
Billy the Puppet from the SAW series, and Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise – two iconic horror villains are now available for purchase in the game store. The bundles also include unique blueprints like the “Family Heirloom” LMG which the cannibal maniac can wield like a chainsaw, and weapons like the Phlebotomozier Lethal Equipment piece, a special throwing knife wielded by the serial killer puppet that will drill into your enemies upon impact.
Haunting of Verdansk will also bring a nighttime variant of the Warzone map that will include some Halloween-themed frights! The new Zombie Royale brings an undead twist into the Battle Royale mode, where dead Operators will now use supernatural powers to feast on the living! You will also be able to earn over a dozen rewards through a Trick or Treat event, a scavenger hunt game where you can loot special supply boxes.
Modern Warfare owners will have two new modes called Onslaughter and Snipers Only to play in this multiplayer update. The spirit of All Hallow’s Eve will make substantial changes to existing modes like Gunfight, Ground War and Domination too.
