In an interview featured in the latest edition of Dengeki PlayStation and reported by SiliconEra, Platinum Games’ director Hideki Kamiya expressed an interest in developing new games for some of the franchises he’s worked on before, such as Bayonetta, Okami, Devil May Cry and Viewtiful Joe.
He said:
“I want to work on a Devil May Cry and Viewtiful Joe remake, or a true sequel for Okami. A cooperation with Dante (from Devil May Cry) and Bayonetta might also be fun. Dear Capcom, if it’s okay with someone like me, I will help anytime. Best regards. Everyone, bow down your heads together with me!”
A Bayonetta x DMC crossover? New Viewtiful Joe? And to top it off, a brand new Okami game? As big Platinum Games fans, this is music to our ears, especially the part about a new Okami; while the PS2 original was a brilliant classic, it’s Nintendo DS sequel – Okamiden – fell short of expectations (although it was by no means, a bad game). We would definitely love a brand new Okami game. Plus that Bayometta and Devil May Cry crossover sounds sweet as well.
Come on Capcom, hand over the IPs to Platinum and let them work their magic!
