Valorant’s Act 2 is around the corner, and with it comes the new agent – ‘KillJoy’!
‘Killjoy’ had been an easter egg all along Act 1. Her turret ability was available as a card in the battle pass and recently she was added as a silhouette poster in the map ‘Split’, at the clothing shop near A Lobby.
Almost everything about ‘Killjoy’ was already leaked before today’s official launch trailer, and we have everything compiled about her! ‘Killjoy’ is the new addition to the roster and she seems like a German tech wizard. Gameplay-wise, she feels more like a combination of Cypher and Raze. She can single-handedly hold an angle with her Turret and even deploy Nanoswarm, which is a sneaky Molotov alternative and can be activated at will. She also brings a surprise Alarmbot, if anyone enters the radius of the deployed bot, it will hunt down the enemy and blow up, which is similar to Raze’s bot, but used in a defensive manner. Her Ultimate ability is very different and needs to be charged before actually doing its work. Lockdown basically spots and makes all the enemies in that area slow and vulnerable.

Tweet translation: Who is she?
Her abilities are pretty versatile and unique, and the concept of having a turret in a 5v5 competitive style game can be quite powerful (in the right hands, that is). The following are a detailed description of her abilities right from the official Valorant news website!
- Alarmbot (C) – Equip and deploy a bot that hunts down enemies who dare to get in range. When my killer robot friend reaches its target, boom goes the idiot. Alarmbot not only deals damage, it temporarily leaves affected targets vulnerable to double damage from all sources. Hold equip if you want to recall your deployed bot.
- Turret (Q) – Sometimes it’s good to plant some roots. Deploy a turret that fires at enemies within its 180-degree cone. Hold equip to recall the deployed turret. With my turret, I can hold an area pretty well myself while the others cover the angles I can’t.
- Nanoswarm (E) – OK check this out. Throw the grenade. When it lands, it goes quiet. Then, activate the Nanoswarm to deploy a damaging swarm of nanobots and catch the enemy crying. I love this trick!
- Lockdown (Ultimate) – You’ll have to adjust your timing for the windup, but once you get this device going, it detains all enemies caught in its radius for about 8 seconds. Yeah, enemies can destroy it – except I built plenty more.
Just like the previous act, it is expected that this agent comes to the game with the launch of Act 2. The next act will also bring about many changes to the game including the rank system, Act rank, and much more.
