Dark Light

Valve had an early Christmas surprise in store for all Counter Strike: Global Offensive fans – the 10th operation Broken Fang just went live! With a current player base of over 1 million players and rising, this F2P juggernaut shows no signs of slowing down! The Operation Pass is available on Steam for $15 | INR 1140 and will run till April 30th, 2021. For the first 16 weeks, players will receive new mission cards every week.

What does the Operation Pass get you?

  • A Broken Fang coin, as is customary of each operation. You can level it up and display it on your CS:GO profile.
  • Access to Operation Rewards, Premier Mode and Operation Statistics.
  • XP boosts on completing missions.

Broken Fang Premier

This mode will feature 5v5 competitive matchmaking with map picks and bans prior to match start and will use the Active Duty map pool. Lots of CS:GO players use these features to participate in scrims on third-party platforms like SoStronk, ESEA and FACEIT – Valve is slowly warming up to the idea of incorporating such modes into the main game to increase engagement.

Track detailed statistics

Get access to much more detailed statistics than what you have previously encountered in CS:GO. Check your performance across maps and their respective sites to see if your playstyle favors a few, or you are a real all-rounder. Track kills across weapon types to address weaknesses in your loadout choice, and create your own meta. Get access to the heatmaps to better understand where major skirmishes are occurring, and view the breakdown of your shots landing on enemy hitboxes. This will really help amateurs and semi-professionals to get better at the craft – whether your headshot accuracy is lower than the chances of hitting other parts of the body, or if you need to correct your spray pattern for the extra edge!

Choosing your rewards

Completing weekly missions will earn you stars across all game modes. You can spend these stars on rewards of your choice – unlock twenty new agents (SWAT and The Professionals), get a case drop which provides you the chance to get one of seventeen community-designed weapon skins, sixteen stickers for your weapons, or skill group patches that you can display on your player model’s chest, sleeve or back. Three exciting new collections are available: Control, Havoc and Ancient. The Broken Fang case also includes a brand new set of gloves as rare special items. A bunch of recoil graffiti and stickers have been added, if you wish to celebrate your committing them to memory!

Operators

New maps

Getting bored of playing Dust 2 with your friends? Try out the seven new maps that have been introduced with this operation! A brand new competitive map Ancient and community maps like Apollo, Engage, Frostbite, Guard and Autumn will keep you busy exploring for some time to come.

Retake Mode

Retake is a fan-favourite mode that has spawned several community servers! Valve has now made this official and available for all – three Ts will defend a planted bomb at a particular site against four CTs. This fast-paced mode has a twist too – you can choose a loadout card at the beginning of each round and retake/defend. The first team to win 8 rounds will be declared the winner!

Chat Wheel

Common commands and callouts can now be equipped in a customizable chat wheel and its contextual pings can be viewed by your teammates. For a game that requires a lot of verbal communication and coordination, a lot of its players do not have access to a microphone. This kind of accessibility will definitely prove to be a hit among them!
