Ubisoft has had a lot of projects in limbo for quite some time. One of the best examples of canceled projects includes a game called Project Osiris – a game that was being assumed as the successor for the Prince of Persia franchise. A majority of the assets used in the project have been leaked.

Senior Ubisoft employees have worked on Project Osiris.

As discovered by Reddit user u/PrinceDastan6, the assets leaked include concept art for the protagonist, statues, weapons as well as NPCs.

One of the assets used also shows the name of the artist as Xavier Thomas. One can recall that Xavier Thomas is a concept artist working for Ubisoft. He has worked on quite a few of the Assassin’s Creed games like Assassin’s Creed, Assassin’s Creed 2 and Assassin’s Creed 3.

The assets have also been signed off by Christian Diaz, the art director for For Honor. What’s weirder is that Christian’s LinkedIn profile shows that he is working on a new project, which was assigned to him in January 2020. This adds weight to the rumors that a Prince of Persia game might be in the works, though it will take some time to release if work on it has truly started in January 2020. Quite a few rumors of the past indeed indicate strongly towards the new game indeed being a Prince of Persia game.

We would never know whether we would get to see Project Osiris for ourselves or not – this might be the closest we could be to ever see the game. Or we might see an announcement very soon, renamed as Prince of Persia.
