Nintendo recently showcased their latest Nintendo Direct. We’ll cover the biggest parts of the Direct announcement, including Super Smash Bros., Animal Crossing, Pokemon, and more. You can view the Direct in its entirety here.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate featuring Banjo-Kazooie, Terry Bogard, Sans, and future DLC

Cutting right to the chase, Nintendo showcased the latest version of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Featuring Banjo-Kazooie and a returning Home-Run Contest mode, the update also features a new stage – Spiral Mountain – and several new remixes to boot.

In addition, Nintendo also included a slew of new Mii Costumes. Among these includes Sans from Undertale. Purchasing the Sans costume also features a new track – a remix of the theme “Megalovania.”

Finally, Nintendo showcased their latest upcoming fighter, Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury. Terry will release in November 2019. Furthermore, Nintendo announced that more DLC would come to Smash after the initial Fighters Pass!

Animal Crossing

The long-awaited Animal Crossing release featured a new trailer. Animal Crossing: New Horizons takes place on a deserted island where you can set up your own tent provided by Tom Nook. New features to the series include a smartphone that allows you to use apps. You can download apps to help craft items. Also, the game will feature 4-player simultaneous play. Look forward to Animal Crossing: New Horizons in March 2020!

Pokemon Sword and Shield – Curry and New Pokemon

Despite the overwhelming outcry for “#BringBacktheNationalDex” on social media, Nintendo presses on with the release of Sword and Shield. Featuring new Pokemon, you’ll get to catch Polteageist, based on a teapot, and Cramorant, a blue bird that spits fish out of its mouth like missiles.

New to the series includes new customization options. You can change many more pieces of clothes than in previous games as well as your hairstyle. Finally, you can set up Pokemon Camp. These camps allow you to hang with your Pokemon and even make curry!

SNES on Switch

Following a year after the release of NES titles on Nintendo Switch, people subscribed to the Nintendo Switch Online service will now gain access to SNES titles as well. With a growing library, the feature was released recently and includes several hits. Among them include Super Mario World, Super Mario Kart, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts, and Super Metroid. In addition, Nintendo also featured a new SNES type controller.

The SNES titles are now available for download for Nintendo Switch Online members.

Xenoblade Chronicles Remaster

The Nintendo Direct ended with the announcement of a full remaster of the Wii hit JRPG. Featuring a complete visual overhaul, Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition will bring players back to Bionis and Mechonis in full HD glory. Stay on the lookout for this title in 2020!
