NVIDIA has just released a new 6 minutes video for Metro: Exodus, showcasing their proprietary Real Time Ray Tracing effects. The footage is taken from NVIDIA’s Gaming Celebration event in Cologne, where it was revealed how 4A Games would use NVIDIA RTX to deliver true Global Illumination. In this extended tech demo, Ben Archard from 4A Games explains how it all works.

This video also compares real-time ray tracing and the standard lighting, global illumination and ambient occlusion effects. These scenes will give you an idea of what you can expect from the RTX version of the game. Do note that the footage is taken from the beta version of the game and may not resemble the final product.

Metro Exodus will be one of the first games that will support real-time ray tracing and is currently planned for a February 22nd, 2019, release for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
