Ubisoft Forward 2020 has been one of the most awaited online events of this year and it has brought us lots of exciting news, including Ghost Recon Breakpoint‘s AI Teammate update, Gameplay reveal for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, some Watchdogs Legion gameplay, the official reveal of FAR CRY 6, and much more.

Ubisoft Forward was a 40-minute long event with half an hour of pre-show with game updates and a post-show featuring a gameplay deep dive of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and HyperScape explained by the developers themselves.

The show was comprised of:

Pre Show

  1. Just Dance 2020

Virtual Paradise Update – 3 New Hits, New Playlist, New Competition. The event lasts until August 15, 2020.

2. Curious Expedition 2

  • Set in Paris in 1899, you can explore and travel around the city as well as explore mysterious islands. You will face tribals and mystical creatures along the way. The game also has a unique feature where every time you start a game it will present you with new characters and stories.
  • The game is currently available on early access.

3. Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet 

Ubisoft’s first real-time web series, available at Apple TV is taking things to the next level. The web series is a comedy genre and is based on a group of developers trying to make a game, design character, and trying to work together. The series used to show clips of games whenever necessary to pretend in the show that there is an actual game being made and the developers at Ubisoft created only specific scenes demanded. This however is being taken to the next level, since now the developers have decided to actually create the game and it will be a sandbox type game where players will be allowed to control the game as they wish.

4. The Crew 2

The Crew 2 developers also announced its line up of in-game events that are planned until the next year. While revealing the titles of the event that will happen in July, some of which are The Beach Event, Neon Battle, and more, the developers thanked all the players and also gave all the Crew 2 players a brand new 1967 Volkswagen Beetle.

5. Surgeon Simulator 2

In the upcoming sequel to the acclaimed Surgeon Simulator, players can now interact and roam freely in the hospital itself. Not only that, but players can now create their own simulations and many more activities, basically giving you a sandbox experience with your friends. Surgeon Simulator 2 is available for pre-order and comes out in August.

6. Tom Clancy’s The Division 2

The Division 2 came up with a beautiful story of the duck easter eggs spread all over the map. The ducks were very mysterious to the players because they could be found almost everywhere. But, the team finally revealed that the ducks were a part of the development, where programmers and designers used the duck as a tool for helping them work better. As a memorial to the ducks which were put in the game in enormous sizes during the development phase, they left small ducks all over the places with stories in themselves.

With the launch of episode 3, the developers have put teddy bears across the map as an ‘Open Easter Egg Hunting Challenge’.

7. Spiritfarer

The creators at Thunder Lotus Games shared quite some information about their upcoming game, Spiritfarer, a game centered around a newly appointed fairy, whose job is to find and help the departed souls reach the afterlife. The game is set in very beautiful environments with hand-drawn animations and comes out very soon for PC, Xbox, PS4, and Switch. The demo of the game can be played at Steam.

8. Trials Rising

The developers announced The Giga Track, the longest track ever which is based on a classic trail rising map. The environment is set to challenge the player’s skill set and is considered the longest endurance test yet. The Giga Track expansion is also absolutely free for all the Trial Rising players and drops at 16th July 2020.

9. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint

Ghost Recon Breakpoint’s most awaited update is here, and it brings in the much-requested AI Teammates to the game. The best part about the update is that the teammates are fully customizable, including their appearance, gender, and equipment.

The teammates can be dismissed or recruited to the squad on the go for the players who want to maintain the lone wolf experience. Teammates can also be given orders to manage their behavior, along with their own ability to adapt to their environment. In case you are downed, your teammates will give you the priority and clear enemies near you and will heal you back to health.

.Along with this update, a Live event has also been announced called ‘The Resistance’, which is set to happen on 16th July. 2020. By the looks of it, the event is basically The Rebels from Ghost Recon Wildlands. According to the trailer, there will be missions where we would be helping out the outcasts of the game world.


MAIN SHOW

Watch Dogs: Legion

The event kicked off with an action-filled short film by Alberto Mielgo, which basically showed how the militant group led by the antagonist, hunted down everyone who dared to speak against their tyranny. They first hunted the thieves, then the journalists, then street artists, and then the protagonist of this short movie who is a taxi driver. When he realized they will soon come for everyone, he decided to rescue the street artist who is being hunted down. After the rescue, the street artist took him to a secret place, which was the hideout of Deadsec itself. He was then provided a mask, which meant a new identity since the media had flagged him as a terrorist.

The short premier was followed by an in-depth explanation of different types of characters we can play as and how we can approach different missions with different characters and abilities.

Brawlhalla Mobile: 

One of the most popular 2D fighting games, Brawlhalla is all set to launch on Andriod and iOS Devices with Crossplay enabled. The controls can be fully optimized and all the features can be accessed via the phone as well. Brawlhalla is all set to be launched on August 6th. Players will also get a free skin at launch.

Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad:

Based on the characters from Tom Clancy’s Franchise of games comes a game for Android which was announced at last E3. The trailer of the game however featured no new gameplay. The game is set to be launched very soon and is available to pre-register on Google Play.

Hyper Scape – Open Beta

After the glorifying success of the technical test, the game has already been launched as an open beta for PC on Uplay. Along with the launch of the game, came the trailer of the game which explained the setting and lore. The game is set in 30 years into the future, where a global crisis has taken place. Now in 2054, where people are living in megacities with no open spaces, came Prisma. Prisma launched a VR device that sends people to a virtual reality space, which is called Hyperscape, which is in turn based on the competition of Crown Rush, the battle royale mode.

If you are good at the game, you can be a popular personality, however, recently strange things have been happening. People disappearing, and all sorts of weird stuff.  The players are now set to uncover the actual secret behind hyperscape.

 

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla:

One of the most awaited segments of the event was the full reveal of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, including full gameplay reveal with the developers explaining every section of it. The game’s graphics are however similar to the old Assassin Creed games, and the UI, HUD, and gameplay feel no different to Odyssey. The game, however, has many features including dual-wielding, new weapon types, and Viking abilities as well. Creating alliances will help you while going to the battles. Along with access to Longboats wherein, you can conduct a full Viking raid, plundering all the loot. For full details about the game, read here.

 

The event was supposed to end afterward, however, Ubisoft had a surprise planned at the end of the event. It was the Official Reveal of FARCRY 6.
