Gear up to return to the Halcyon solar system – Obsidian Entertainment, the creator of the hit 2019 RPG The Outer Worlds, has announced a new expansion/DLC for the game – Peril On Gorgon at the Xbox Games Showcase. Slated to release on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on September 9, 2020, it is going to be the first among two expansions the game will receive.
The DLC boasts of a new planet/asteroid, three new science weapons (one of them being a melee weapon – the Pest Extermination Tool), a level cap raise, and a ton of new and old returning characters. The expansion is not separate from the main game – your companions on the Unreliable are going to join you on your new adventure – with perhaps, a little special attention to SAM! The DLC is quite meaty – about the size of the Monarch hub, and will take you 6-8 hours to complete.
The story will not keep you at Gorgon all the time – you will be returning to previous hub zones and new dungeons. Also, you don’t need to complete the main game to start this expansion – although it is advised that you are at a higher level. The major part of the game will take part in the canyon of Gorgon where there is an abandoned Spacer’s Choice research facility and the miracle drug Adrena-Time is a part of the mystery (we told you so!). There is a pulp adventure and noir tone to The Outer Worlds: Peril On Gorgon, and as always, there are going to be plenty of choices to be made!
