Super Smash Bros Online Open.
Battlefy, an eSports online organization, has hosted recent Nintendo tournaments. While they’ve hosted Splatoon 2 in the past, this coming weekend, they’re hosting the upcoming Super Smash Bros Online Open for North America. In their last Smash tournament, the Top 4 players won a trip to Japan. Among the winners included Florida’s own Epic_Gabriel, a ROB player from Florida. In their latest tournament, however, the winners will win a trip to The Big House 2019 in October!
The Big House
Taking place in Michigan, The Big House is a major Super Smash Bros. tournament series. It brings in some of the finest talent in Super Smash Bros. This includes players from all over the world, including Canada, Mexico, and Japan. While the tournament initially debuted as a Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament in 2011, it grew to become a respectable tournament series. In 2015, The Big House became a national tournament for both Melee and Smash for Wii U.
At its peak year in 2016, The Big House capped at 777 entrants for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 1,563 for Super Smash Bros. Melee. As its inaugural year for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, one can only imagine the attendance. Note that in 2019, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has already broken attendance records for multiple tournaments. Among these include Momocon, CEO, and EVO.
Be sure to check out The Big House’s tournament page and follow their Twitter for updates. The Big House 2019 will take place on October 4-6, 2019. Also, you can catch all the action on Twitch.tv!
