A Reddit thread has started to garner attention after pointing out a job listing at Japanese developer Creatures Inc’s official website.
The recruitment job requirements include knowledge of 3D modelling and using software development tools like Maya, Unity and Unreal Engine 4; and even the thumbnail of the job listing shows off a picture of a Pikachu being made in Unreal Engine 4:
While it’s correct that fact GameFreak are the ones working on the upcoming mainline Pokemon game for Switch, there’s still the possibility that Creatures are helping with development (and this isn’t surprising really, since Xenoblade developer Monolith Soft also aided Nintendo’s EPD studio with development on Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild). Then there’s also the chance that this could be something entirely different – perhaps Creatures isn’t working on the mainline title but rather a spin-off game (and they’re known for their spin-offs, like PokePark on the Wii).
We’ll have to wait and see. What do you think?
