With major players in the publishing playfield like EA, Microsoft and even Sony testing their luck on premium subscription models such as EA Access, Origin Access, and Xbox Games Pass, it’d make sense for Ubisoft to put their hands in the cookie jar. Earlier today, some keen-eyed users found out something interesting in a section that isn’t supposed to exist in Ubisoft’s digital storefront, Uplay.
Something called The Ubisoft Pass Premium was spotted being listed in the Subscription category in Uplay, which has since been removed. But nothing is really lost to the internet and users were quick to grab screenshots of the mysterious Ubisoft Pass.
If this is true, chances are that Ubisoft Pass will offer the same benefits as EA Access, service that provides unlimited access to the full versions of EA games for a monthly subscription fee of $4.99 a month, or $24.99 for a year.
Knowing Ubisoft, there might also be a chance that this pass could offer players cheap access to the millions of small DLC packs that keep getting churned out for their games. Relax, it’s a joke. At least, we hope so.
With Ubisoft’s E3 conference around the corner, we’ll just have to wait and see.
