2015 has been a year of delayed games, among which most of them were awesome. But we could have gotten more, if some of the games may not have gotten delayed. So according to us 2016 may be a yet bigger gaming year than 2015 with games like Technomancer and Recore making it to the market, even though many anticipated games have already pushed down to 2016. So we make a list of the best games that got delayed to 2016, according to us, which could have made it to the Game of The Year lists of 2015 in some way or the other (Hopefully):

10) Bombshell

After the official death of the Duke Nukem franchise, Bombshell (A side kick in the Duke Nukem games) has taken over it. The game is highly anticipated and the only reason it got pushed back to January 2016 was that the developers did not want to give the gaming community a bug ridden game and then keep releasing patches later on, which is pretty good considering the latest slew of games on the market.

9) Mighty No. 9

From the makers of Mega Man series, this game seems to go in the same direction as it’s soul predecessor. The game is still in development though it had a 2015 release. The reason for the delay, according to the team, is the variety of platforms they are going to release the game on. The developers also said that if the response was good, they would leave no stone unturned to try for a sequel.

The second Nintendo exclusive on the list, this game is pretty hyped up among the Nintendo Fans. The game has been delayed for embedding enhanced user experience. The game is looking awesome and the developers have said that, this is a new learning experience for them. Though not as popular as the Zelda series, it does have it’s own share of fanbase. The game was supposed to release in December 2015 but now has a release date of 2016.

7) Homefront Revolution

The sequel to the 2011 game, it is an open world shooter, where you face Korean threats in an occupied America. The game’s development has seen a lot of hands including companies like Crytek and THQ but now is in stable development. Maybe this could be one of the reasons the game got delayed to 2016. Whatever the reason, this game could definitely make it to the Game of the Year awards.

6) Legend of Zelda

Nintendo is experimenting on some rather interesting formulas. With Legend of Zelda being an open world game, they have taken the game in a different direction. The open world looks pretty and may even stand up to the likes of The Elder Scrolls and The Witcher. Nintendo had a good start to the year and released some decent games throughout the year. Legend of Zelda was their only chance of increasing sales in 2015 holidays, but a 2016 release means that the company did not have a stellar end to the year.

5) Hitman

Hitman Absolution was neither a good game nor a bad game. Many people complained about the small levels and it’s failure to being diverse. Looks like Eidos has heard the gamers. Hitman claims to be the biggest game of the franchise yet, with sprawling level design and awesome breathtaking moments. The game got delayed this year and was shifted to early next year. It could be one of the best games to come out in 2016.

4) The Division

The Division has been in the news for quite some time now and we think that it’s a good thing that Ubisoft is going slow with the game. The game is definitely ambitious and looking at Ubisoft’s recent past, it’s a good thing they are not in a hurry to roll out the game. Maybe, just maybe, this game could bring back the glory of Ubisoft.

3) Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

The final chapter of Nathan’s journey sees him come out of retirement for one last job. The adrenaline filled, exhilarating set pieces will be back for one more time, when you are put in the shoes of Nathan Drake. Naughty Dog will be looking to end the franchise on a high note and make sure that the name Uncharted is not forgotten in a long time. This is also the most anticipated PS4 exclusive right now. The game was expected in late 2015 but now has a release date of Q1 2016.

2) Quantum Break

Quantum Break is one of the most anticipated Xbox Exclusive games and for all the right reasons. First, it has been made by Remedy Entertainment, the ones who contributed a lot to the Max Payne series. And secondly, it has time manipulation. So this goes without saying that the game has everything going in the right direction as of now. Let’s hope that it turns out to be a good game. There was only a little speculation about a 2015 release, so we put it on the list. Microsoft has confirmed though, that the game is releasing in 2016.

1) No Man’s Sky

No Man’s Sky is the most ambitious gaming project, humankind has taken up. A randomly generated world and claiming that no one would be able to finish it in a lifetime are 2 things almost every gamer has wanted out of the best games. But is this game really worth the hype. Well, we will find out when the game launches next year. Till the *fingers crossed*.
