DREADMOOR made a chilling appearance at February’s IGN Fan Fest, where publisher Digital Vortex Entertainment and developer Dream Dock Games unveiled a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming dark fishing adventure. Set to launch on PC via Steam in Q4 2026, the title blends early 20th-century aesthetics with post-apocalyptic horror.
Set in a plague-ravaged world known as the Submerged Lands, DREADMOOR casts players as a lone fisherman navigating corrupted waters teeming with grotesque, mutant lifeforms. Armed with a modest but upgradeable vessel, players must trawl through dangerous waterways where the distinction between predator and prey grows increasingly blurred.
Gameplay revolves around scavenging materials on land and fishing for a wide range of sea creatures, each varying in rarity, strength, and value. Early catches such as the docile Softgrazer give way to more dangerous quarry like the predatory Bristler, encouraging players to steadily upgrade their equipment. Earnings can be traded with a mysterious ichthyic shopkeeper, allowing players to reinforce their boat’s hull, increase speed, and prepare for more perilous expeditions.
Survival hinges on preparation. Crafting bait, harpoons, and medical supplies is essential before venturing out, while advanced lures and reinforced lines can help paralyze stronger foes and withstand heavier hauls. According to Dream Dock Games CEO Rostislav Fedorov, DREADMOOR serves as a tribute to the studio’s twin passions: classic horror cinema and fishing.
DREADMOOR is scheduled to release on PC via Steam in Q4 2026.
