Since its original release on the Gameboy back in 1996, the Pokemon games have been a huge success for both Nintendo and The Pokemon Company, giving almost all of the Big N’s systems big sales boosts (especially handhelds) as well as massive mainstream popularity resulting in other kinds of media like anime, manga and so on.
Famitsu recently revealed that the series has crossed 300 million units sold worldwide and includes every Pokemon game (including spin-offs) upto the latest released Pokemon games, Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon for the Nintendo 3DS, which also sold quite well despite less-than-stellar reception by fans and critics.
The newest entry in the Pokemon franchise is currently in development at GameFreak for the Nintendo Switch. Are you looking forward to it?
