UPDATE: Speaking to Rishi Alwani from The Mako Reactor, a Sony spokesperson has declared that ”The launch date has been erroneously communicated as November 19, 2020, whereas it is officially yet to be confirmed.”
Original Story
- PS5 disc edition has been priced at $499 for the US region
- PS5 digital featuring the same hardware with the lack of a disc drive bears an impressive price tag of $399
- Both consoles will launch on November 12 in the US, Canada, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Australia, and New Zealand.
- Consoles will be available to the rest of the world on November 19, including India.
PS5 and PS5 digital prices were revealed at the online PlayStation Showcase event a few days ago. The pre-orders for PS5 went live before the announced date of September 17 for the US. This caused a major uproar as all the stocks were gone within 15 minutes. Many fans were speculating that it may not be until Q1 2021 when the majority will be able to get their hands on the console despite Sony claiming otherwise.
Well, now those rumors can be put to rest as Playstation India has officially confirmed to several curious customers through mail that the console will indeed be available on the 19th of November in the Indian sub-continent. Indian Pricing is still under wraps though.
SIE has officially announced that the Playstation 5 will support over 99% of the PS4 library and will have several exclusives like Demon’s Souls Remake, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Sackboy and many more at launch. PS Plus subscribers will have access to a stellar collection of hand-picked titles like Uncharted 4, The Last of Us, Fallout 4, and many more at launch as well.
