PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS has been the game that has been making and breaking records made by itself, broke another historical record on its march to greatness. First, they had taken down the 1 million player base record, and now, they had broken that record by having a recorded player base of greater than 2 million.
What’s more surprising is that the player base of the former crown jewel of Valve, DOTA 2 has been dwindling steadily, with PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS maintaining a steady leadership over the former leaders on Steam, Valve’s own game store. While the prime reason of a mass exodus of Counter Strike : Global Offensive to PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS seems to be the hacker menace, and Valve’s pathetic attempt at strengthening the VAC system, DOTA 2 being a free to play game and lagging significantly behind an Early Access title that has just hit the Steam store is a miracle no one can possible explain.
The question is, how many records will the game really break, and how far will it go in its journey?
