With PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS selling over 5 million copies and becoming one of the most played games on Steam, with a good number of daily players, it’s time for serious competition! Developer Bluehole is organizing an PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS at Gamescom, for the best battle royale survivors to battle it out in a match for ultimate victory. Eighty of the world’s best PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS players, influencers, as well as Gamescom attendees will be competing at the world’s first LAN event from August 23rd to August 26th in Cologne, Germany.
A staggering $350,000 USD prize pool will be up for grabs! Additionally, starting from August 3rd, players will have the opportunity to purchase exclusive vanity items in PUBG, with the proceeds directly supporting the Gamescom PUBG Invitational as well as charities of Bluehole’s selection.
The tournament will span over four days and include a variety of game modes, such as Solo Mode, Duo Mode, Duo FPP (First Person Perspective) and Squad Mode. The best overall scores after three matches will determine the winners.
The event will be broadcasted across Twitch, Facebook, YouTube, Mixer and Twitter starting at 16:00 CEST each day and both PUBG and ESL will provide extensive coverage, including interactive community engagements with participating players on social media. On top of that, Gamescom attendees will have the chance to join in on the action, meet Bluehole developer team members and play the latest build of PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS.
