SEGA and ATLUS officially revealed the release date for Persona 4 Revival during the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 on June 7, 2026 — confirming a launch date of February 18, 2027, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam. It will also be a Day 1 release on Game Pass Ultimate. The announcement arrived alongside an extensive new gameplay trailer that gave fans their most complete look yet at the beloved JRPG fully rebuilt for the current hardware.
The Xbox Games Showcase 2026 trailer for Persona 4 Revival
Revival centres on a quiet rural town shattered by a grim mystery. A string of unusual murders disturbs the peace in Inaba as word of the mysterious Midnight Channel begins to spread. You play as a city kid transferred to Yasogami High School for the year — thrust into strange circumstances when classmates start disappearing and turning up dead.
You and your friends form the Investigation Team, diving headfirst into a world inside the television set — the Midnight Channel — a dimension overrun by Shadows. Armed with the power of Personas, your goal is to rescue those who have gone missing and stop the killings before it is too late. When you are not chasing down leads in the supernatural, you are living out your high-school days: studying, joining extracurriculars, hitting karaoke, and building the bonds that will directly strengthen you and your Personas in battle.
Atlus describes Revival as a game that stays true to the original’s story while completely transforming its gameplay — with more tactical combat, gripping new cutscenes, and a brand-new score. Built on the foundation of the globally acclaimed Persona 4 Golden, it is designed as the perfect entry point for newcomers and the definitive version for fans who know Inaba by heart.
What’s new in Revival

Quality-of-life improvements throughout, including faster dungeon traversal and a more intuitive UI — refinements rather than a reinvention, keeping the social link and Midnight Channel loop intact.

Completely rebuilt visuals and character models in a modern anime-inspired style, maintaining Persona 4’s cartoonish, high-tempo aesthetic at a far higher fidelity than even the Golden remaster.
A fresh score composed by Ryota Kozuka, with Shiori Sasaki taking over vocal duties from Persona 4 Golden’s Shihoko Hirata, bringing a new sonic identity to the Midnight Channel.

Baton Pass system from Persona 5 integrated into combat, enabling character-switching mid-turn for combo damage — adding new strategic depth to Shadow battles in the TV World.

Pre-order or purchase early, and you will receive the P3R & P5R Extra BGM Set — a collection of beloved tracks from Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Royal that can be used as in-game background music. The digital bonus is obtainable for purchases made before 10:59 PM on February 17, 2027 (UTC+8). Physical availability is while supplies last.
