Starting today, Xbox Live Gold Subscription will not be required to play Free-to-Play games including – Fortnite, Spellbreak, Rogue Company, Destiny, and other games which account for a list of a total of 50+ games.

Xbox Live Gold not required

This might be a big step and a very caring one towards the console owners. This will allow players to play their favorite free-to-play games with friends without having to pay for a subscription. This feature adds few important games which include – Fortnite, Spellbreak, Apex, Rocket League, and more. In the competitive scene of Fortnite, players preferred the X-box controller and wish to take the advantage of better frames in the Series X console. But for this, people had to face a subscription to play the game, however, they can now freely compete without investing any money. The same applies for Apex Legends, and since a big update is arriving with the launch of the new legend Valkyrie, Xbox users will be expecting to play the game and experience the biggest ever update shipped for the console. Additionally, you can check out the entire list of free-to-play games here.

This decision could be a part of the steps that Microsoft is following to shift the current players on Xbox Live as well PC players to Game Pass. But will this mean that Xbox Live is going away permanently? We will find out soon!
