Publisher THQ Nordic has broken their silence regarding the controversial Metro Exodus timed exclusivity deal with Epic games. According to THQ Nordic, the decision to release the game initially only on Epic’s store was made entirely by Koch Media who is responsible for Deep Silver’s games.

“The decision to publish Metro Exodus as a timed Epic Store exclusive was made entirely on Koch Media’s side as Metro is their intellectual property. They are a sister company of THQ Nordic (Vienna), which is the reason why we can and will not comment on this matter.”

THQ Nordic went on to say that they do not want to exclude the possibility of timed exclusives for any of their games in the future, but for the moment, they expressed interest in having the players choose the platform of their liking and make their portfolio available to as many outlets as possible.

Metro Exodus will release on February 15th on Epic’s store and will be coming to Steam in February 2020.
