At Blizzcon, Hearthstone game director Ben Brode announced the new expansion. Called Kobolds and Catacombs, it heads underground into the Undermines, where hoards of treasure exist, under the watchful eyes of kobolds, who might blast treasure seekers and adventurers with their traps and contraptions, should they get too close.
A new singleplayer gameplay mode called ‘Dungeon Run’ will also be added to the game, and will be free for all players. In Dungeon Run, players are presented with a random set of 10 cards, and have to play through a set of 8 bosses, chosen randomly from a set of 48 bosses. However, should you happen to lose even once, you have to start all over again, and try something different! Completing the mode with all nine classes earns the player the Candle King card back.
