A new online co-op multiplayer mode has been announced on the Playstation Blog for PS4’s swan-song Ghost of Tsushima. The new update Ghost of Tsushima: Legends will be a free download for Ghost of Tsushima owners and is arriving soon, in Fall 2020.

We are sadly not going to see Jin here, but instead, embark on a new journey of four warriors who will visit fantastic locales set in mythological Japan. You will get to fight horrifying enemies from their folktales like the demonic Oni. And yes, expect lots of customization options!

There are going to be 4 distinct character classes with their own unique abilities that you can choose from:

  • Samurai
  • Hunter
  • Ronin
  • Assassin

In the two-player mode, you will be tasked with completing a series of co-op story missions but with “new magical twists”. With four players, you will take on the wave-based survival missions. Assemble your friends to fight groups of the toughest enemies from the game. There will also be a 4-player raid mode that will launch soon after, which plans on taking you to “an entirely new realm”.

Did you know that Ghost of Tsushima was the best-selling game in the US in July? It also became Japan’s bestselling PS4 first-party exclusive. With all the love and adulation the game has received, developer Sucker Punch should be very pleased with this cracker of a game that they have crafted for Sony. Check out our Hindi review of Ghost of Tsushima by Manas Joy if you are still haven’t played the game and are thinking about it – he will definitely sell you on it! This game will probably also be backward compatible on the next-gen PS5 console, so keep your eyes on Gameffine for further updates.

On a side note, with the rumoured (and leaked) The Last Of Us Part II PvP standalone multiplayer expansion called Factions, what do you all think about Sony bringing these multiplayer updates to single-player games lately? Tell us your views in the comments section below!
