EA’s game subscription service, EA Play, has finally arrived on Steam. The service was also made available on PS4, Xbox One and EA’s own storefront, Origin for a while before making its way to Steam. Do note that you won’t be able to use the service across platforms.
The base edition that is available on these platforms is priced at $4.99 | ₹ 315 per month, and $29.99 | ₹ 1,990 for a year. This move is expected to be very profitable for EA since it will enable them to reach over 20 million existing Steam users. Customer benefits include:
- Instant access to a collection of EA’s beloved games
- Exclusive rewards and member-only content
- Newly-released EA games will be available for a 10-hour trial play (like FIFA 21 whose trial starts October 1)
- 10% off on all EA digital purchases (full game, DLC, expansion, microtransaction)
What games you say? Well, you will be able to play AAA games like NFS Heat, Star Wars Battlefront II, Battlefield V, and a whole lot more. And what about FIFA 20? Fear not: that is expected to join the roster soon! You can also try out Respawn’s free-to-play battle-royale Apex Legends on Steam later this year.
You can head over to the EA Play Steam page and check the details out for yourself. The premium edition of the subscription service called EA Play Pro, which bundles early access to all of EA’s new titles at launch, is only available on Origin. EA Play Pro is priced at $14.99 | ₹ 999 per month and $99.99 | ₹ 6499 for a year.
