Bungie’s Destiny series has been under a lot of fire ever since its release. One of the reasons being the lack of an in-game lore tracker. It’s kind of baffling to see a game with as much as lore as Destiny demands you to look up an external wiki to see who’s who and what’s what. That is a thing of the past, however. With the latest Forsaken expansion for Destiny 2 comes an in-game lore tracker. Kept you waiting, huh?
The new Triumphs tab offers a whole section on lore, letting you collect story notes and browse them from within the game itself in the form of a proper codex. This tab also highlights those items you’ve unlocked. There currently 67 Triumphs marked as “lore,” and these allow you to read bits of backstory in this menu as you complete certain actions in the game. Progressing the main story, indulging in a conversation with an NPC, scanning the environment, etc unlocks these lore notes.
We would still prefer a classic style codex as seen in the Mass Effect series. But, oh well.
