Baba Black Sheep Games, headed by the solo dev Kunal Joshi, has released a demo for Bat to the Beat, his upcoming rhythm-action game on Steam. Now, rhythm games are not anything new in the PC games market, but there’s a twist! Bat to the Beat is being touted as a Rhythm game with a Cricket theme.
Inspired by Rhythm Heaven Fever, Crypt of the NecroDancer, and Super Hexagon, Bat to the Beat is described as a Cricket-themed rhythm action game in which players travel the world and are challenged by the unique grooves of each country. These range from the one-drop reggae beats of Jamaica to the syncopated Bollywood-inspired rhythms of Mumbai’s streets.

Players can wishlist the game from the Steam store page right now. A demo for the
game is out on Steam as well. You can check them out at the link below:
While the demo has a slice of what to expect, the full release, expected this year, contains more levels and music and is slated for release later this year.
Bat to the Beat’s moment-to-moment gameplay features a unique mechanic that challenges the player’s sense of rhythm and spatial awareness. At each beat, players make a split-second decision: attack and risk getting caught by the fielders or defend and let the pressure build up.
“Bat to the Beat is a work of obsession, combining three of my favourite things: cricket, music, and video games,” says Kunal Joshi, solo developer behind Baba Black Sheep Games. “It’s a passion project that’s been honed from years of iteration and feedback. I hope you’re able to find as much joy in playing it as I did crafting it.”
Developed in Unity, the game features controller support, an original soundtrack, and is accessible on a wide range of PCs, thanks to relatively low system requirements, which you can find on the game’s store page.
