Activision and Infinity Ward revealed the multiplayer portion of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare yesterday at a Multiplayer Premiere Event in Los Angeles along with the schedule for the game’s open beta.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s single player is all about the more harrowing aspects of war, but its multiplayer is much more interested in glamourizing conflict. The game’s new engine shines in the amount of detail and destruction on-screen. Along with showcasing different locations, the multiplayer trailer also revealed different vehicles. There are tanks which can seemingly be piloted, though players can still call in attack helicopter’s and drone strikes. Speaking of which, you can have your own personal drone conduct recon of locations.

The game will also feature a new fast-paced, close quarters, 2v2 multiplayer mode – called Gunfight – as well as a 20v20 mode.
The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare beta dates are as follows:
PlayStation 4 Exclusive Beta –

  • September 12 – 13 (Early Access, PlayStation 4)
  • September 14 – 16 (Open Beta, PlayStation 4)

Beta featuring Cross-Play Testing –

  • September 19 to 20 (Early Access, PC and Xbox One; Open Beta, PlayStation 4) – Pre-Order for Access
  • September 21 to 23 (Open Beta, PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox One)

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will release on October 25th.
