The Game Kitchen and Team17 today announced The Stir of Dawn, the long-awaited DLC for last year’s acclaimed action-platformer, Blasphemous. What’s more exciting is that the DLC will be completely free and will launch on August 4, 2020, on all platforms the game is available on.
The DLC will not just add more story content, but will also expand the content-rich realm of Cvstodia with NG+, new executions, an optional ‘Three Penitence’ system, etc. Read the complete list of additions below.

Initially planned for earlier on in the year, the team instead decided to further expand on their initial plans following community feedback to create a DLC truly worthy for those that take on the mantle of The Penitent One.
The Stir of Dawn will take the Blasphemous experience to the next level with:
- New Game+
- A new, optional ‘Three Penitence’ system.
- New storylines, NPCs, bosses, enemies and areas to discover.
- New Executions & Counter attack mechanic.
- Revamped map system with more fast travel locations.
- New items, animations and level art reworks.
- Updated voice acting, including a full Spanish language option.
- Balance changes including: Buffed Prayers, Rosary Bead & Sword Heart updates plus enemy tweaks!

Each week on the run-up to launch the developers will be delving deeper into what awaits you in The Stir of Dawn DLC with news posts on Steam that will share a behind the scenes look from the Developers at some of the new mechanics and features you’ll be encountering come August 4th.
