In a surprise announcement at the Game Awards 2017, Nintendo announced that they’re bringing Bayonetta and its sequel to the Switch. Now Platinum Games has provided more details on the subject, especially the port of the Wii U-exclusive second game.

As we already know, only Bayonetta 2 will be getting a physical copy on the Switch; the first game will be digital only.

Bayonetta 2 will also feature video capture, local and online co-op Tag Climax (essentially a boss rush/horde mode, originally online-only on the Wii U) and amiibo support (using the Bayonetta amiibo).

Platinum also touched on the pricing of both the games:

The digital version of Bayonetta 2 can be purchased in Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch for $49.99 / €49.99, with the option to also then purchase the digital version of the original Bayonetta game for $9.99 / €9.99. However, if players choose to download the standalone digital version of Bayonetta first, they will pay $29.99 / €29.99, with the option to then get the digital version of Bayonetta 2 for an additional $29.99/ €29.99.

Here’s some Bayonetta 2 screenshots:

Both games will be available for purchase on February 16, 2018. Oh and on a side note, Bayonetta 3 is also currently in development exclusively for Switch.
