According to a keen-eyed fan at ResetEra, the next game by Rocksteady after 2015’s blockbuster Arkham Knight, is a Suicide Squad game. The forum member DriftingOrbit found out that 3 domain names were registered by the domain broker MarkMonitor Inc – the company used by WB Interactive for its other websites like wbgames.com.

The three websites and the dates registered on are:

Suicide Squad is a fictional anti-hero team in the DC Universe. They undertake high-risk black-ops missions at the behest of the government in exchange for parole and reduced prison sentences. The current crop of members from the comics are Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, Enchantress, Harley Quinn, Katana, and Killer Croc.

Rocksteady was previously rumored to be working on a Superman game which got canceled.

Gotham Knights seem to be the game by WB Montreal (Arkham Origins developers)- they have been teasing a Court Of Owls setting on their social media with the tagline Capture The Knight.

On a side note, there is news in the financial market that AT&T is trying to sell Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment (the video games division whose subsidiaries are TT Games, Rocksteady Studios, NetherRealm Studios, Monolith Productions, WB Games Boston, Avalanche Software, WB Games Montréal, and WB Games San Francisco) for $4 billion. Although all discussions are currently private and “no deal is assured or imminent”, companies like Take-Two Interactive, Electronic Arts, and Activision Blizzard have already expressed interest in acquiring it. Silent bidders like Microsoft are also rumoured to be in the running.

Will it be a story-based single-player like the previous games? Are we going to have co-op? Or are we looking at Rocksteady’s foray into the games as a service (GaaS) model? Let’s hope the upcoming DC FanDome, the virtual convention on 22 August, holds all the answers!
