Today, independent videogame developer Resonator launched a new Kickstarter campaign to crowdfund its action-exploration game, Anew: The Distant Light. This is the first crowdsourced funding launch by veteran game developers Steve Copeland and Jeff Spoonhower. As former AAA studio developers atA, Sony, 2K, and Bioware, Steve and Jeff worked on games in the Bioshock, Uncharted, Command & Conquer, Saints Row, Lord of the Rings, and Star Wars Franchises.

The Kickstarter campaign runs from today through 11:59 pm PST on Sunday, March 19th, 2017. A sample of the rewards for backers include digital copies of the game for PC, soundtracks, t-shirts, posters, in-game items, exclusive development tools, and several ways to interact with the team and contribute to the development of the final game.

Anew: The Distant Light is an open-world, action-exploration game. You play as a child with limited resources and a damaged home ship, waking up on a distant alien moon, twenty light years from Earth. You must carry out a mission of critical importance. Battle, puzzle, and journey through an exotic and dangerous world. Seek out game-changing equipment, upgrades, vehicles, and companions to expand your options for combat and exploration.
Anew: The Distant Light won the Audience Choice Award at Phoenix Comicon in 2016, was featured in the Made with Unity Showcase @ Unite ‘16, and was recently accepted into NVIDIA’s “best of the best” indie game curation program, the Indie Spotlight.
