Update: Reports have rolled in that the glitch has been patched.
Gears Of War 4 is one of the most anticipated games of 2016, and Nvidia has done good on this aspect by giving away game codes to those who purchase the GTX 1070 or the GTX 1080 in the promotional time period. But it seems that on you can actually get it for free on Amazon.com using a work around.
Apparently this bug was discovered while purchasing a GTX 1080 on Amazon, and when the order was confirmed, the promotion code for getting GOW4 was sent to the user which could then be redeemed on the Nvidia site. And when you cancel the order, the promotional code stays with you. So technically you got the game and didn’t have to buy the card or spend money. Have a look at the screenshots below to see more details.
This was the case at the time of writing, but I’m not sure if the problem has been fixed. So what do you guys think about the this? Let us know in the comments below.
Dunno yet, we’ll see :v
Cebula time
What kind of platform is key for? I’m sure it’s not Steam, so which one? Thanks.
Korwin, pewnie w sklepie M$ innej opcji nie widzę.
It is or rather was. for the Windows store
The GOW4 key that comes with the 1070/1080s you have to redeem at redeem.nvidia.com. It then links to your Microsoft Account and grants you ownership of the content.
It’s window store key , but if you own the game on microsoft acc I think you can also play on x1… not sure though.
This is how Amazon has always worked. For example if you pre-order a game you commonly get a key for the game’s closed beta. If you cancel your pre-order you can still play for free in the closed beta.
