Running With Scissors, the studio behind the long-running and controversial POSTAL franchise, has announced its first-ever spin-off title. Revealed during the IGN Fan Fest showcase, Flesh & Wire is set to launch in 2027 for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and GOG.

Described as a dark and violent return to the series’ original themes and setting, Flesh & Wire introduces a new protagonist, Angel- an outwardly ordinary college student who finds herself pulled into a nightmarish spiral of conspiracy, bloodshed, and revenge. Accompanied by her sphinx cat, Solomon, Angel becomes entangled with law enforcement, the military, and a mysterious cult as she investigates her connection to the events of the original POSTAL game. Her journey ultimately puts her on a collision course with the franchise’s infamous lead character, the Postal Dude.

Set against the backdrop of Arizona, the game follows Angel as she tracks the elusive figure while confronting the resurfacing traumas of her past. Players will also explore the Dreamscape, a distorted and hallucinatory realm where memories and reality merge into a grotesque nightmare. Survival will hinge on careful resource management, as Angel must rely on limited ammunition and medical supplies to uncover the truth and pursue vengeance.

Flesh & Wire is an idea we’ve been talking about internally and with our community for a long time,” said Vince Desi, founder of Running With Scissors. “With POSTAL, we’ve explored satire and our own sense of humor as the series has progressed. Now with Flesh & Wire, we’re returning to our dark, psychological horror roots – another genre we trailblazed.”

Flesh & Wire is currently slated for release in 2027 on PC and PlayStation 5.
