So last month we heard the news that WWE are working with NetherRealms and WB on a free mobile based video game. Today we are happy to announce that WWE Immortals finally has a release date.
WWE Immortals will be releasing worldwide on 15th January 2015.
Not only that we also have first looks at the superstars who would be featured in the games. WWE Immortals is set in an imaginary world, where different WWE Superstars are portrayed as more fanciful versions of their persona. for eg. John Cena is shown wearing a costume which closely resembles the ‘Man Of Steel’ Superman.
Then there is Sheamus, who is now not only channeling his inner viking. But is dressed as one.
Roman Reigns rightly sports a Roman general look. Though they could have gone with a Samoan warrior with him. But I am no one to complain, the look suits him.
Big Show is again portrayed pretty accurately. He is seems to be a giant from the north, right out of the Norse folk lore.
Then there are the Bella Twins. One look at the scantily clad ladies, and its difficult not to notice the heavy Mortal Kombat influence. The 2 sisters looks as if they share a wardrobe like Meelina and Kitana did in Mortal Kombat. Though once again, I would rather see the twins in such outfit more often.
We will never have a complete WWE game, if there is no HHH in it. The game instils life into his ‘King of Kings’ persona, and it suits the air of the game perfectly.
Finally there is the big 2. Rock and Brock, were the first two wrestlers who were announced when the game first hit the news. However both of them are a bit different in their style, as both of them seem to emanating a certain aura.
If you ask me, the 2 of them would be serving as the Boss battles in the game. The Rock would be heading the good guys, while Brock might be the main baddie of the game. The Mortal Kombat influence is clear here as well, with The Rock leaking blue glow like Raiden, and Brock Lesnar radiating like a volcano similar to Shao Khan or Goro.
There is not much time left for the game to be released; and I am not sure if any more superstars would be announced. If that’s all we have for this game, then its a small roster for sure, but its the best of the best as far as I am concerned (except for the Bella twins, I would have liked Paige and AJ). I would also love if Sting could make it. Who would you like to see in the game?
The feel of the game looks rad, and I kind of feel sad that its a mobile only game. I am sure NetherRealms could do a great job with WWE on any platform. But I guess this will have to do for now.
