InXile Entertainment announced that Wasteland 3, which was supposed to launch on May 19 has been delayed to August 28 of this year.

According to InXile, the delay is to ensure that they release the game in the most polished state.  The studio has shifted to a work-from-home environment due to COVID 19 outbreak and thus feels that it’s for the best to add a few extra months to implement the final changes. The studio will be using this time to implement changes, work on optimization and squash some bugs based on the feedback from the recently released backer beta.

Since a rushed release is one of the most prominent problems faced by RPGs since time immemorial, this delay seems like a good decision from InXile. Afterall, Wasteland 3 is their biggest project yet and continues the 30+ year legacy of the RPG series forward.
