The entire world was shocked to hear the news of fires engulfing the spire of Notre Dame, the medieval cathedral in Paris on Monday. Notre-Dame is deeply rooted in the history of France and the government is vested in the restoration and reconstruction of the Cathedral.

In light of these events and the recent news that the accurate recreation of Notre-Dame in Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed: Unity could be used for the restoration of the majestic cathedral, Ubisoft has announced that they will be giving away free copies of the said game on the PC for a week. Notre-Dame was one of the game‘s most important landmarks in the game and one of the game‘s level artists, Caroline Miousse, spent two years modeling the cathedral in Unity.

In the words of Ubisoft,  “we want to give everyone the chance to experience the majesty and beauty of Notre-Dame the best way we know how. For one week, we will be giving Assassin’s Creed Unity away free on PC, for anyone who wants to enjoy it.”

In addition, Ubisoft will be donating €500,000 to help with the restoration and reconstruction of the Cathedral and those who are interested are free to donate as well.

You can download it now for Uplay PC here: http://assassinscreed.com/unity-notredame/ or get it directly on the Ubisoft Store here: https://store.ubi.com/

Let’s hope that the pride of Paris gets back to its former glory in no time.
