Almost everybody knows about the big releases that happen in the later part of the year because they are marketed heavily. This is the time of the year when many smaller games go under the radar because of not being able to mislead people into buying them. Here is a look at some of them that you might wanna consider saving up for:
Dauntless- PC
Dauntless is an online action RPG developed by Phoenix Labs studio, established by former employees of Capcom, Blizzard, Riot Games and BioWare which is all about hunting monsters. The main pulling factor of this game (From what has been shown) is the gameplay and art style.
Absolver- PC, PS4, XBox One
I have personally always had a fancy for melee combat, not only in real life but in games as well, whether it involves short ranged weapons like swords, maces etc or martial arts like Muay Thai or Jiu jitsu and while For Honor was failed by Ubisoft for the former through anti-consumer policies (Which they are rectifying after almost half a year), I still have Absolver to look forward to, which is being published by a much more dependable Devolver Digital and after their uncanny E3 presentation, I am looking forward to it even more.
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice- PC, PS4
Hellblade is personally my most anticipated game of the year right now, the reason for which is that I have liked Ninja Theory’s previous works like DmC: Devil May Cry and Enslaved: Odessey To The West, both being pretty good action adventure games. So no reason to not get excited for their next work.
Cuphead- PC, Xbox One
Cuphead, from what we have seen in all the reveals and trailers is shaping up to be an exciting platformer. With a fully hand drawn retro cartoon animation art style and seemingly snappy gameplay loop, it definitely is a game to look forward to.
Matterfall- PS4
Matterfall is being published by Sony but is being developed by Housemarque and being a third party exclusive I wouldn’t consider it AAA exactly because Housemarque ain’t a developer with huge resources. Nonetheless, as I have said in a previous post, I can’t wait to get my hands on this game.
So what do you think of the list? Which ones have we missed out? Let us know the ones that you are interested in. Of course great looking indie games pop up all round the calendar, so we will make another list as soon as we see another 5 highly interesting games. So adios till then.
