WWE 2K23 is set to be released on March 14th, and the game couldn’t come at a better time. That’s because barely a fortnight on from the release date, WWE will host its annual wrestling extravaganza, WrestleMania. The two-night show is the jewel in the crown of professional wrestling, and WWE 2K23 will give both gamers and wrestling fans alike the chance to create their own dream storylines ahead of the big show.
The full roster for the upcoming game was recently announced, and there are a few superstars that look unbeatable – both in the game and in real life. The game promises to be a thrill ride like no other, perhaps, only rivaled by the exhilarating games found at https://www.slots.lv/, and there are plenty of obstacles to overcome for gamers on March 14th. With that being said, let’s take a look at the highest-rated stars in the upcoming game.
16-time WWE Champion turned Hollywood megastar John Cena is the cover star of this year’s game. He was on the cover of the 2015 edition of the game, and he follows in the footsteps of the likes of Rey Mysterio, Becky Lynch, Roman Reigns, and AJ Styles, who have all featured as cover stars in recent years.
Roman Reigns – 99
Is anyone truly surprised that Roman Reigns is the highest-rated player in the upcoming game? Deep down, is anyone actually shocked that he has been given a perfect 99 out of 99 rating? Let’s face it, this is the Tribal Chief’s universe, and we are all simply living in it. The Head of the Table has run roughshod over the WWE since he returned in 2020 and aligned himself with the sleazy Paul Heyman. Since then, he picked up the Universal Championship at that year’s Summerslam when he arrived at the last minute to defeat Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman. He has held that championship for over 900 days and he hasn’t been pinned and submitted in even longer than that.
Throughout 2020 he formed the Bloodline faction alongside his cousins Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, and Solo Sikoa. Sami Zayn became a part of the family for the best part of 2022, but he has since been exiled and smashed by the Tribal Chief.
Reigns unified his Universal Championship with the WWE Championship at last year’s WrestleMania when he defeated Brock Lesnar in the biggest WrestleMania main event of all time. His reign of that title is approaching a year, and his reign of dominance shows no signs of ending.
The reigning Undisputed WWE Universal Champion faces the 2023 Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes at this year's Show of Shows, and he is expected by many to retain his championship.
One will need to tune in to night two of WrestleMania on April 2nd to see who comes out victorious, but if Reigns’ 99 rating is anything to go by, the American Nightmare is in for a long night.
Brock Lesnar – 97
One man who knows all too well about Roman’s reign of terror is Brock Lesnar. The Beast Incarnate lost to the Tribal Chief in three consecutive matches throughout 2021 and 2022, with Reigns once and for all slaying the beast at Summerslam 2022 with victory in a Last Man Standing match. Despite that however, Brock Lesnar is still Brock Lesnar, and anything less than a 97 rating would be doing the only male UFC and WWE Heavyweight Champion an injustice.
The former NCAA Division I Heavyweight wrestling champion returned to WWE following a stint with Dana White’s UFC in 2012. He immediately laid out John Cena upon his return, however, the following two years would see the Minneapolis native lose on numerous occasions. That came to an end in 2014, when Lesnar became the unstoppable beast we all know and love today.
At WrestleMania 30, Lesnar became the first man in history to defeat The Undertaker at WrestleMania, ending the Deadman’s winning streak at an unfathomable 21-0. He would then decimate Cena at Summerslam later that year to claim the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
Throughout the next few years, Lesnar was the top star in the WWE and would pick up a number of victories against the aforementioned Reigns, as well as his former Shield stablemate Seth Rollins. He would also defeat fan favorites such as AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan. In recent years, Lesnar has been forced to take a backseat to the Tribal Chief however, he still remains a megastar, and with a rating of 97, he will take some beating in WWE 2K23.
The Rock – 96
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is perhaps the most recognizable man on planet earth. Around the turn of the millennium, he and Stone Cold Steve Austin were the undisputed top stars in Vince McMahon’s money-spinning wrestling promotion. He used that success to springboard himself to Hollywood superstardom, and since then, he hasn’t looked back.
He left the WWE as a full-time performer in 2004, however, he would return nine years later to defeat CM Punk and claim the WWE Championship for the first time in a decade. A decade on from his last success, is he the one to end Roman’s reign of terror at the top of the WWE landscape? It remains to be seen whether we will see him in a WWE ring in real life, but you can lead him to glory in WWE 2K23.
