Here is a disclaimer before I start the post, so that you don’t come back to me whining about why it didn’t happen to you:
I am not a tech expert, so I do not know what’s going on, and I haven’t changed anything in the PC, so it might either be from the ISP or directly from Steam.
With that out of the way, I was in for a pleasant surprise when patches of my owned games started downloading at a higher speed. I have an internet plan of 5 Mbps (Not MBPS) and hence I get about about 600 Kbps of download speed on Steam. For the past year this had been the case, and today I noticed that the average speed had bumped up to about 4 MBps (Not Mbps).
This started with Uplay a few months ago and it started with Steam as well now.
Also do note that, some of my friends have reported no jump in speeds, whereas some of the others have. So I am thinking this is an ISP dependent issue.
