Execution Unit have announced that Smith and Winston has been shortlisted by a panel of experts for Develop: Brighton Indie Showcase.

Smith and Winston is a humorous twin stick voxel shooter with Metroid exploration, limitless level destruction. Featuring hand-crafted, high definition, voxel levels with the philosophy that “if you can see it, you can destroy it”.

When a strange signal is detected in deep space the Federation orders Smith and Winston to go and investigate. What they find, after a brief nap, is a shattered ring world, aliens and an evil overlord called the VOID.

In a rare twist, in modern game development, Execution Unit decided to use a complete custom engine and tool-chain. This ensured we could deliver the most explosive voxel experience to gamers. None of this off the shelf engine rubbish with all its compromises. We created our own shelf upon which we could put our own custom compromises!

Smith and Winston is in Early Access now but should be finished for PC platforms by late July with ports to Xbox One, PS4 and Switch already in the works.
