Brian Horton, Creative Director at Insomniac Games has shared more details about the upcoming PS5 launch title Spider-Man: Miles Morales through a post on the official Playstation blog.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a standalone game will feature a new story and set-pieces, fresh villains, and unique quests across a New York City covered in snow.
Set one year after the events of the first game, a war has broken out between an energy corporation and a high-tech criminal army just before Christmas break. Mile’s home at Harlem will be at the heart of this battle. Miles is touted to be not as confident as Peter Parker, so his swinging movement will be more ‘flaily’, making his traversal and combat techniques unique. He will also have access to incredible new superpowers like bio-electricity and invisibility.
The game will showcase near-instantaneous loading thanks to the PS5’s SSD, ray-tracing, 3D audio and the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback. We will also see upgraded 4D scans and skin-shading for characters and updated assets for the city.
The game’s scope is similar to Uncharted: Lost Legacy. This game will completely be about Miles Morales’ journey – but we are teased that a lot of Peter Parker’s story is yet to be told in the future.
