Dino Patti, co-founder and further CEO of Playdead, has joined his hands with indie developer and launched a new company, Jumpship.
The studio is developing its very first game called Somerville, which is a “sci-fi action adventure that chronicles the lives of key individuals in the wake of a global catastrophe” as described by the company. Its a dark sci-fi side-scrolling game with art-style very similar to the games released by Dino Patti’s former studio, Playdead. As talk of the teaser, it didn’t give any hints about what the game looks like and how it plays, though the world of Somerville looks intriguing to me.
Jumpship is led by Chris Olsen who spent most of his career working for film industry as an animator (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince , Iron Man 2 , Edge of Tomorrow and Avengers: Age of Ultron), is new to game development. However, he previously worked as an animator for Ninja Theory on Heavenly Sword.
Somerville neither have a release date nor any specific platform.
